The
EAC has a DX-500 Ion Chromatography system
from Dionex. The instrument is normally configured for anion
analysis in full recycle mode. The instrument is sporting the
most current version of Dionex's Peaknet software and a new
Dell box.
We
have a second set of plumbing for cation analysis. The instrument
mode can be switched in about an hour. Because all plumbing
is separate, low background levels can be obtained after switching
with very little rinsing.
AS-11
and AS-12 columns are available for general use. For anion separations
requiring higher resolution, an AS-11HC column is available.
The
DX-500 is mobile. It can be connected to one of two mass spectrometers:
the HP-4500 ICP-MS or the HP-1100 LCMSD.
